A Great Pair

I know the one of the right looks like a lime but they are actually two lemons, one is just younger than the other, but despite their differences they're meant to be together and perfectly comfy in all that crisp linen.

Arty-choke

This gorgeous white table cloth was a gift from my mother in law, I've never used it on the table but its the star of my recent still-lifes!  The lemons are from our wonderful tree which thrives on sheer neglect, and the artichoke, well lets say cooking them isn't yet part of my culinary expertise.  That annoying little patch of shiny paint in the background I fixed it by putting a wash of a deep neutral green diluted with turps (which makes the paint matt) over the whole background.

Beachy Still Life

Oil on canvas,  This composition was inspired by the previous still life with the wine, glass and fruit & veggies.  I just replaced the objects to change the meaning of the painting, the positioning is still similar.  This painting still needs a little 'tweaking'.  The small shell will get a glaze of yellow ochre and the cup needs a little work.  I'm really pleased with the towel.  All these objects bring wonderful memories of beachy days.
